WHY DON’T YOU...
RECYCLE?
R
ECYCLE
Recycling involves taking an unwanted item or material and turning it into
something that is useful again. It differs from Reuse because there is a
processing stage that changes the state or form of the original item.
For example, taking steel cans and melting them down to make new steel
products is recycling. Using broken glass bottles to make new glass
containers is another example.
Weekly Kerbside Recycling Collections
The Council continues to offer a weekly kerbside recycling collection
service to over 100,000 households across Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Dry Recycling
Residents should have been given clear recycling bags and an information
leaflet. Please put any recyclable materials into the bags and put the bags
out for collection before 7am on your normal collection day each week.
Please put paper and card into one bag. Mixed dry recyclables i.e. glass &
plastic bottles, plastic containers, cans, metal tins and tetrapak cartons -
into another bag. Place garden waste goes into seperate bag.
Small amounts of textiles can be placed in your mixed bag but for larger
amounts please use one of the Community Recycling Centres.
Refuse and recycling are collected in different vehicles so please keep your
recyclables separate from your refuse. You can put clear recycling bags
alongside your bin or next to your black bags but please do not put bags
of recycling inside the bin you use for refuse.
When you are running short of bags you will see on the
end of the roll a red line, this will indicate to the
crews that you need more bags and they will
leave some for you or you can go to your
nearest Council building to collect more.
