THE THREE R’S
The three R’s stand for Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
These are always listed in order of importance. We should all try to reduce
and reuse our waste and if there is no other option then we need to
recycle as much as possible.
REDUCE
means cut the amount you use in the first place
so that you have less to throw away.
REUSE
means use things again.
RECYCLE
means using things that have already been used,
to make new things.

Top tips to Reduce your waste
1.
Buy products with less packaging such as loose fruit and
vegetables, rather than over-packaged items.
2.
Avoid disposable items such as razors, cameras and plastic cutlery -
this will also save you money.
3.
Reuse plastic carrier bags where possible – either take your own or
use bags for life. This will also save you money.
4.
Buy quality goods that last.
5.
Make your own lunch instead of buying sandwiches and use airtight
containers instead of cling film/foil/bags.
6.
Invest in low energy light bulbs and rechargeable batteries –
this will save you lots of money in the long run.
7.
Reuse glass jars and biscuit tins.
8.
