Proposal
Cynnig 7:
Street Lighting Provision
The Council currently operates and
maintains 28,500 lights in residential and
non-residential areas. There is no statutory
basis for the provision of street lighting.
The proposal is for the part night (midnight
to 5am) switch off of all streetlights in
non-residential areas, as well as the part
night (midnight to 5am) switch off of
alternate (every other) streetlight in
residential areas. Lighting would be
maintained in potentially sensitive areas
subject to reviewing the level of provision
with the implementation of alternate
options between midnight and 5am where
feasible.
Saving £0.300m per year

Ar hyn o bryd, mae'r Cyngor yn
gweithredu ac yn cynnal 28,500 o
oleuadau mewn ardaloedd preswyl ac
ardaloedd di-breswyl. Does dim sail
statudol ar gyfer darparu goleuadau stryd.
Mae'r cynnig yn awgrymu diffodd yr holl
oleuadau am ran o'r nos (12 canol nos tan
5am) mewn ardaloedd di-breswyl, yn
ogystal â diffodd bob yn ail olau stryd
mewn ardaloedd preswyl. Bydd goleuadau
yn cael eu cynnal mewn ardaloedd a allai
fod yn boblogaidd, yn amodol ar adolygiad
o lefel y ddarpariaeth ran cyflwyno
goleuadau 'bob yn ail' rhwng 12 canol nos
a 5am.
