Heritage Service
The service is currently predominantly
centred around two venues – the Cynon
Valley Museum and Gallery and the
Rhondda Heritage Park. Other elements
include a Service Level Agreement with
Pontypridd Town Council for heritage
services in association with the Pontypridd
Museum. There is no statutory basis to any
part of the service. It is proposed that Cynon
Valley Museum closes and the Service Level
Agreement with Pontypridd Town Council is
ended. Opening hours at the Rhondda
Heritage Park would be reduced, but it would
become the hub for the retained Heritage
Service for the Council with outreach work
supported across the County Borough.

Rhondda. Mae elfennau eraill yn cynnwys
Cytundeb Lefel Gwasanaeth gyda Chyngor
Tref Pontypridd ar gyfer gwasanaethau
treftadaeth, ar y cyd ag Amgueddfa
Pontypridd. Nid oes sail statudol i unrhyw
ran o'r gwasanaeth. Y cynnig yw cau
amgueddfa Cwm Cynon a dod i ben â'r
Gytundeb Lefel Gwasanaeth gyda Chyngor
Tref Pontypridd. Byddai oriau agor y Parc
Treftadaeth yn cael eu lleihau, ond byddai'n
dod yn ganolbwynt i wasanaeth treftadaeth
wrth gefn y Cyngor, gyda gwaith
allgymorth yn cael ei gefnogi ar draws y
Fwrdeistref Sirol.

Arts and Cultural Services
The service currently operates three theatres
– the Park and Dare (Treorchy), the Muni
(Pontypridd) and the Coliseum (Aberdare).
The service also contributes to arts
development and collaborates with other
authorities through the “ArtsConnect”
initiative.
There is no statutory basis to the service.
It is proposed that the Muni is closed, with
the remaining service continuing to be part
of the “ArtsConnect” initiative and delivering
a balanced but reduced programme of
professional arts events, school and
community and amateur performances,
centred around the 2 remaining theatres
supplemented with greater outreach activity,
especially for children, young people and
their families.

a Diwylliannol
Ar hyn o bryd, mae'r gwasanaeth yn cynnal
3 theatr - Y Parc a'r Dâr (Treorci), y Muni
(Pontypridd) a'r Colisëwm (Aberdâr). Mae'r
gwasanaeth hefyd yn cyfrannu at ddatblygu'r
celfyddydau ac yn cydweithio gydag
awdurdodau eraill drwy fenter "ArtsConnect".
Nid oes sail statudol i'r gwasanaeth. Y
cynnig yw cau'r Muni, a chynnal gweddill y
gwasanaeth yn rhan o fenter "ArtsConnect" a
darparu rhaglen gytbwys llai yn y 2 theatr
sydd ar ôl. Byddai'r gwasanaeth yn datblygu
gweithgareddau allgymorth ar gyfer plant,
pobl ifainc a'u teuluoedd yn benodol.
