on zip wires. An adventure play area
especially for 2-12 year-olds has hill
slides, giant swings, climbing frames,
tipis and playhouses.

Our wide open spaces offer plenty
of opportunities to get out and get
active – whether you prefer a gentle
stroll or something more daring!
The region’s rolling hills with their
wonderful views are perfect for
walkers, cyclists and horse riders. A
range of walking and cycling trails
traverse the area, and there are
audio trails, driving trails and
heritage trails to help you on your
way. An annual Walking Festival
each autumn offers a range of
guided walks for you to discover
pastures new.
The more adventurous can try quad
biking, Segway or combat zone live.
If you prefer the more gentle
surroundings of the golf green, there
are a number of long-established
golf clubs to choose from – all with
stunning views.
Dare Valley Country Park just outside
Aberdare is a nature-lover’s
paradise, offering walks and trails –
and there is a cosy café when you
need a breather. There is also an
adventure playground and camping
and caravanning facilities on site.
Families can head for Barry Sidings
Countryside Park near Pontypridd
and Clydach Vale Countryside Park
in the Rhondda, which both offer
lovely views and walks, wildlife, fun
for the little ones and places to eat
and relax. Or simply soak up the
peace and quiet in our lovely town
parks.
