The Welsh National Anthem was
penned in Pontypridd by Evan James
and James James in 1856. And the
father and son who wrote Hen Wlad Fy
Nhadau (Land of My Fathers) are
remembered with a statue at
Ynysangharad War Memorial Park.
Singing star Sir Tom Jones put
Pontypridd in the musical spotlight in
the 1960s – and he has wowed
audiences around the world ever since.
Our venues offer a stage for bands,
musicians, comedians and performers
throughout the year, while many pubs
and clubs have evening entertainment,
where you can enjoy local talent - and
maybe spot the stars of the future.
